ROBERT AND RICHARD SHERMAN - Composers

Robert and Richard Sherman are the Academy Award and Grammy Award winning composers who have written the music for such films as “Mary Poppins,” “Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang,” “The Parent Trap,” “The Tigger Movie,” “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” “The Jungle Book,” “The Aristocats,” “Charlotte’s Web,” “The Slipper and the Rose,” and “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.” Their most famous song, ”It’s a Small World (After All),” written for the 1964 World’s Fair in New York, has become the most translated and performed song on earth. The Sherman Brothers have also written some new songs for their theatrical productions of “Mary Poppins” and “Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang.” “Chitty” is the longest running show to ever play the London Palladium and recently ran on Broadway. “Mary Poppins – The Musical” still playing in London, has also, now opened on Broadway. For their contribution to the motion picture industry, the Sherman Brothers have a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

 

Jack Stein began his career as an agent in the music department of the William Morris Agency where he represented such stellar artists as Stevie Wonder, Three Dog Night, Bill Cosby, The Jackson 5, Tom Jones, The Temptations and Diana Ross, among others. He then became a personal manager representing leading, artists, including Dusty Springfield, Susan Anton, Kathie Lee Gifford, The Solid Gold Dancers, Downtown Julie Brown, Lester Wilson and Earth, Wind & Fire. He has produced television variety specials for NBC and was nominated for an Emmy for the third special of “Presenting Susan Anton.” Jack has produced self-help and informational home videos, one of which entitled “Slimatics” sold in excess of 700,000 units. He was also involved with Broadway musicals and plays, including THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES and KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN and the national touring company of THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG and BEST LITTLE WHORE HOUSE IN TEXAS. Together with his writing partner, Fred Fox, Jr., he has written and published a book titled, “YOU KNOW YOU’RE FIFTY WHEN…”

 

JACK STEIN – Executive Producer
ANDY BELLING – Director

Andy Belling is probably best known for his innovative and whimsical electronic score for Ralph Bakshi’s cult classic “Wizards” for 20th Century Fox. He recently scored and performed the music for the IMAX feature, “Neighbors” and has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic, The Jerusalem Symphony and The Seattle Symphony for his other feature and television compositions. Andy has arranged and composed music for numerous network television series and specials, including “Grizzly Adams,” “Greatest Heroes from the Bible,” “Mark Twain’s America” and “Happy Days,” plus ABC movies of the week and CBS’s “Ed Sullivan Specials.” NBC hired Andy to score their unique tribute to Robert Redford and Sydney Pollack, “The Men and Their Movies”. Andy served as musical director for the internationally syndicated children’s series, “Disney's Sing Me a Story” and also arranged and produced the music for the new Tiki Room Show at Tokyo Disneyland. He wrote and produced special musical material for Dinah Shore and her guests on her syndicated talk show for Fox TV. Andy directed a production of Rodgers & Hart's "Babes In Arms" at the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theatre in Jupiter, Fla - and subsequently restaged the show in Santa Monica, CA. Andy has also enjoyed a long working relationship with the Sherman Brothers and has arranged and produced many of their Walt Disney projects.

 

Paul Butler began in show business as a magician at the age of eight. While still in high school he began performing professionally at a Southern California amusement park. In 1976, Paul was hired as the Show Coordinator for the world-renowned Magic Castle in Hollywood where he also co-wrote and directed the Academy Awards of Magic for a number of years. Paul performed magic internationally, as well as working with the world’s most famous magicians and illusionists. This led Paul to begin working as a Technical Advisor for major Hollywood studios where he provided magic expertise for movies like Mandrake the Magician, Little Miss Marker, The Sting 2, and television shows like Hart to Hart, Quincy, The Hardy Boys and The Tonight Show. Working with studio writers inspired Paul to try his hand at writing a screenplay and his first sale, The Bloomfield Kid won the area Emmy for Best Network Youth Special of 1982. Paul has continued writing several television specials and was a staff writer on Truth or Consequences, as well as authoring and/or illustrating more than 25 published books.

FRED FOX, JR. – Writer

Fred Fox, Jr. has been producing and writing for thirty years, on the staff of the hit shows Laverne & Shirley, Happy Days, (seven years, last two years as show runner) and Family Matters (1990 – 1998). Fred won an International Emmy for My Secret Identity, which he co-created, wrote and produced. Fred has also been involved in the feature world, doing a rewrite on Universal’s The Flintstones, and has sold a script to Columbia and an independent producer. Recently, he wrote and produced the Happy Days 30th Reunion, a two hour special for ABC that aired during the February 2005 sweeps

 

Art Verity has been using his writing skills to tell stories and entertain audiences for over 30 years. The bulk of his writing career has been spent in the world of Themed Entertainment, as a Show Writer for Walt Disney Imagineering. Expanding on the Toon Mecca that was created in
the 1988 motion picture, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Art was the writer for “Mickey’s Toontown” at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. He also has written and directed shows and attractions for Disney Theme Parks in Florida, Paris and Tokyo. For Tokyo DisneySea in Japan, Art was a core team member and was responsible for the initial concept and creation of many of the shows and attractions throughout the park including the live musicals, “The Voyage Of The Little Mermaid” and “Donald’s Boat Builders.”

BOB MACKIE – Costume Designer Bob Mackie has been designing for Broadway, music, television and film for some three decades. He has earned seven Emmy’s and three Academy Award nominations. Stars that he has dressed include Cher, Carol Burnett, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, Madonna and Elton John, as well as special edition Barbies. He has also branched out into fragrances, rugs, men’s wear, furniture and other consumer goods.

Larry Sousa recently won the prestigious Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his choreography for Sondheim’s Anyone Can Whistle, a great honor made more so as he was nominated with the Broadway mega-hit The Producers.  Last summer, Larry directed the New York premiere of You Mutha, A One-Mom Show, receiving rave reviews.  He has directed and choreographed productions at some of the country’s top regional theatres, performed in numerous Broadway companies, appeared in several sitcoms and commercials, and designed scenery and lighting for more than 30 productions in Los Angeles and New York.  Larry holds a BFA in theatre from Ithaca College, and he pursued a unique individual MFA program in theatre at the University of California at Irvine . 

Larry recently was presented with "Choreographer of the Year" at the American Dance Awards.

Peter Morse, Lighting Designer and Director! Peter has designed the lighting and directed staging for the performance environment for the past twenty-five years, having produced production shows in Las Vegas and similar large-scale venues; and designed the lighting for live concerts, television, and feature films. Peter has received the Emmy Award for his work on Bette Midler’s "Diva Las†Vegas" television Special, along with three other Emmy nominations (for his work on Barbara Streisand’s and Michael Jackson’s specials). Additionally, he is the recipient of†four Cable Ace Awards for Lighting Design and Direction of Photography for: Madonna’s††"Blond Ambition"; Madonna’s "Girlie Show"; Michael Jackson’s "Dangerous"; and Barbara†Streisand’s "The Concert". Peter has also been cited as†Lighting Designer of the Year by Performance Magazine (1998); by Lighting Dimensions International (1991); and most recently by Pro Productions International for his work on Prince’s Musicology tour in†2004.

Butch Allen has been designing live entertainment for over 20 years.
His career runs the gamut from the heavier end of the heavy metal spectrum (Ratt, Danzig, Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, Black Sabbath, and Ozzy Osbourne) to the lightest of pop (the Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, and Ricky Martin). He has also worked with some of the more colorful personalities in the rock music business like Courtney Love/Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins. Most recently he designed the set for Bow Wow's tour (with Peter Morse as the LD). Most recent projects include: Gwen Stefani Tour 2007, Dancing With The Stars Tour 2006-2007, Christina Aguilera Tour 2006-2007, Metallica Tour 2007.

DAVID SNYDER – Musical Director

David Snyder has worked as a composer, arranger/orchestrator, pianist, musical director and songwriter for 19 years. Most recently, David arranged, conducted and co-produced Another Place and Time, the debut solo CD for The Manhattan Transfer baritone Alan PaulDavid has composed, arranged and/or orchestrated material for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, MTM/Family Channel, Turner Network Television, the NY Pops and the Ice Capades David’s theatre credits include Forever Plaid, on which he served as musical director for the original New York cast. His long-standing association with Plaid creator Stuart Ross has since involved him with productions of the show in Tokyo, San Diego, Denver and the new Plaid Tidings at the Pasadena Playhouse. Other shows he has conducted include Camelot, Sunset Blvd., Kiss Me Kate, Into The Woods, Naked Boys Singing, Sweet Smart Rodgers & Hart, A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening – the music and lyrics of Jimmy McHugh & Harold Adamson, and Ethel Merman’s Broadway starring Rita McKenzie.

John Gaughan has been designing and building illusions for professional magicians for over 40 years and has provided stage magic for Disney, Universal Studios, and theme parks around the world. Some of his credits include Broadway's "Beauty & the Beast", Doug Henning's "Merlin" and "Blackstone on Broadway". He has provided stage illusions for many touring shows including Barbra Streisand, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Alice Cooper, Earth, Wind & Fire, Disney on Parade, Ozzy Osborne, as well as many of the shows in Las Vegas including Siegfried & Roy. Lance Burton, and Penn & Teller.

Doug F. Wolf-
Senior Digital Artist
Doug recently received a Visual Effects Emmy nomination for his work on the Steven Spielberg miniseries "Taken". Doug was a staff digital artist at Digital Domain for 5 years, working on a host of film and commercial spots, including "I, Robot". In addition, Doug has worked on "We Were Soldiers", starring Mel Gibson. His commercial work includes clients such as Coke, I-Omega, Maytag, Cadillac, Lego, Tide, and Amex.
He won 2 Visual Effects Clio awards for clients Coke and I-Omega. Doug has also won an Anicomm award for his work on the “Got Milk Animal Crackers” campaign. While at Toybox, Doug worked on trailers for “Underdog,” ”Beowulf” and “Semipro,” as well as large scale projects such as Sony CES. His duties range from concept work to final models, setup, textures, and animation.

Erik Gamache served as animation lead for Sony Picture's “Stealth” at Digital Domain. Prior to that, Erik worked as a member of the modeling team for “I, Robot.” He also worked to design complex set extensions and various props for many of the movie's virtual locations. On Steven Spielberg's “Taken,” Erik served on a team as Lead Digital Artist, which received an Emmy nomination. He also animated many of the aliens and various creatures in the film
